Guardian angel at the pool. When I was about 5 years old I was at the pool with my mom, brothers, cousins and aunts. We were playing in the shallow end but I saw how much fun everyone was having in the deep end. I kept asking someone to take me there but no one was paying attention to me because they were playing with my little brothers. I figured I could go on my own. So I held on to the wall on the side of the pool and made my way to the deep end. When I got there I let go of the wall thinking I could swim on my own. I floated for a few seconds but by the time I couldnt keep myself up anymore I was too far from the wall. I started sinking to the bottom. I remember seeing the chlorine blue of the pool mix in with the blue of the sky but no body in sight. A few seconds later a man came and picked me out of the water and sat me on the side. My mom ran over to get me but the man was gone by then. The face of the man is still unclear to me. I don't remember what he was wearing or anything about him but his strong arm picking me up.
The lifeguard wasn't even paying attention. My mom tried calling out for her but she paid no mind. Lifeguards are usually suppose to be the heroes in those types of situation.
